2007 ACCOMPLISHMENTS
- Opened and staffed the first independent CPAA office in March of this year
- Sponsored a luncheon with the Jewelry Information Center for over 50 of the Most Influential Editors in NYC.
- Became Perles De Tahiti Public Relations Representative in the U.S.
- Successfully represented Perles De Tahiti in Las Vagas at the JCK Show.
- Signed an agreement with Jewelmer to become an industry sponsor.
- Signed an agreement with the Pearl Producers Association of Australia to become an industry sponsor.
- Have set August 17, 2007 as the switch over date on our new and improved website.
- Almost completed the educational CD targeted for the retail sales associate with entry level pearl knowledge.
- Acknowledged members with plaques celebrating the 50th anniversary of the CPAA.
- Hosted a cocktail reception with Perles De Tahiti in Las Vagas.
- Produced the first newsletter and distributed to the top 700 JBT rated jewelers, membership and at the JCK Las Vagas Show.
2006 ACCOMPLISHMENTS
- Developed a new logo.
- Created the website domain www.cpaa.org
- Produced educational pearl chart and distributed 500 for pearl training to major retailer.
- Negotiated and secured funding from existing benefactors.
- Introduced new benefactors and secured funding.
- Created and supplied Ad Slicks.
- Aggressively pursued PR and advertising opportunities for members.
- Negotiated Co-Op opportunities for members with Perles De Tahiti.
- Produced "Celebrity Portraits in Pearls" and distributed with Modern Jeweler and Lusture Magazine. This special pearl publication illustrated the alliance between pearl popularity and celebrities and offered each member a customized ad unified under the association.
- Recognition for the CPAA, a historical story on the Cultured Pearl Association of America will be a feature among two industry trades.
- Increased membership and attendance at meetings.
