TARA Pearls Has 2020 Business Plans That Benefit Retailers!

Phoenix & Tucson, Ariz. Jan. 31, 2020. With 45 years of sales under its belt, TARA Pearls will be changing up its business strategy effective January 2020. Tara is eliminating its fashion-forward pearl and diamond jewelry category to focus on the highest-end pearls and pearl jewelry available.
“We will be focusing our strengths on finding the finest pearls on the planet, including conch, Melo, and South Seas, and continuing our classic Japanese akoya line of pearls” explains Sonny Sethi, CEO.
To facilitate this move, TARA will be selling off its fashion-forward line at highly discounted prices (think -40 wholesale) at the upcoming Centurion show in Phoenix, Ariz., from Jan. 28 to Feb. 1., at the J.W. Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa, and at the AGTA GemFair Tucson in Tucson, Ariz., Feb. 4–9, at the Tucson Convention Center.
“We hope to see you at either event to take advantage of this great opportunity,” says Sethi. “Come and make your selections early in the year as they will not last long.”
For retailers, this change means deep discounts on both timeless and trendy looks. The extensive merchandise selections will be priced below cost “to move the merchandise quickly,” adds Sethi.
You can also seek out TARA in New York City if you are coming to town for the Gem Awards on Jan. 10 or the 24 Karat Club on Jan. 11. Retailers are encouraged to make appointments to visit TARA at its New York City showroom or at the trade shows to get the best deals.

As a fine jewelry retailer we have lost all confidence in selling cultured pearl stud earrings. The peg — usually part of the post beyond the cup these days — is more slender than the drill hole in the pearl; and making matters worse, many studs are made with 3/4-bead pearls so that the only epoxy bond of the pearl with the gold findings is along the rim of the cup.
I would love to find a source that uses a thicker, twisted wire (or double wire) peg for better grip on the pearl.
We would be selling a good number of studs if we found such a source.
