• Jeremy Shepherd, board treasurer and founder of PearlParadise.com, wrote about recent innovations in freshwater pearl farming for the Summer 2018 issue of InColor, the magazine of the International Colored Gemstone Association. Find his piece “From Tissue to Bead, the Transformation of the Chinese Cultured Freshwater Pearl Industry” online here. 

• Also in the Summer issue of InColor, Laurent Cartier of the Swiss Gemmological Institute (SSEF) and Justin Hunter of J. Hunter Fiji Pearls teamed up to ink “Fiji Cultured Pearls, A Vision for a Blue Industry,” which you can read here. (Anyone who has progressed through Module 4.1 on Fiji Pearls in the Pearls As One course will have a keen appreciation for this article.)
